Special Resources

Welcome, Tenno!

I hope you are ready for what I am going to tell you next. The information about Special Resources we can find in Plains of Eidolon is… bittersweet at best, because they are the most difficult Resources to get I’ve ever known.

Here you are going to see all the information about what it is and what it is used for, the Breath of the Eidolon, Cetus Wisp, Sentient Core (Intact, Exceptional and Flawless) or the Eidolon Shards, either the normal ones and the Brilliant Shards.

1. Breath of the Eidolon

Breath of the Eidolon is a Resource you can only get as a reward when you complete a Bounty offered by Konzu in Cetus. The good thing is that you all now where Konzu is, the bad thing is that its only available as a reward form the most difficult Bounties (Tier 5) and the percentage of obtaining it is 25%.

The amount of Breath of the Eidolon you get is 5, as long as Konzu give it to you as a reward when you accomplish the Bounty.

2. Cetus Wisp

Cetus Wisp is a Resource as peculiar as it is scarce and, unlike the Breath of the Eidolon, you can farm it in the Plains besides obtaining it as a reward accomplishing Tier 4 and 5 Bounties.

The problem with the Tier 4 Bounties is that Cetus Wisps are not always offered as a reward and you only have a 15% percentage to obtain 1 when you accomplish a Bounty.

The “least bad” about the Tier 5 Bounties is that Cetus Wisps are always offered among its possible rewards, and you can get 2 of them with a 25% percentage to obtain them when you finish a Bounty successfully.

Cetus Wisp

A second way to obtain Cetus Wisps is go out to the Plains to look for them, initially it sounds better to you, I tell you and you decide. Well, this Resource can be found in the Plains, floating in the middle of anywhere, but it is so small that I am sure you run into it and don’t even notice it. When you see it and get closer you have only a few seconds to use your Operator and catch it or it will vanish. Yes Tenno, it can only be caught with your Operator, so be aware of your environment to get them.

Applications

Both the Breath of the Eidolon and Cetus Wisps are mainly used to craft bout AMPs (weapons), Arcanes and Armors for the Operator which can be acquire trading with Quill Onkko, they are also used to craft Zaws, the weapons you can buy and craft in the Hok’s Anvil.

3. Sentient Core: Intact

Here we have our first Intact Sentinent Core, an artifact you can get destroying Vomvalysts Eidolons.

4. Sentient Core: Exceptional

The Exceptional Sentient Core can be obtained when you face and eliminate a Eidolon Teralyst. You know that this enemy only appear at night, and it is not easy to take it down.

To obtain this Exception Sentient Cores you have, at least, to weaken its shields and destroy on of the Eidolon Teralyst weak spots, located in its arms and legs. Each weak point will drop one of these Sentient Cores.

You can get it from Gantulyst and Hydrolyst Eidolons too.

5. Sentient Core: Flawless

To obtain a Flawless Sentient Core you have to “catch” the Eidolon Teralyst. To do that you must use Eidolon Lures and make them attach its limbs when you take them down (each Lure can be attached two weak spots).

Only if you can take down a Eidolon Teralyst this way, you will get a Flawless Sentient Core.

You can get it from Gantulyst and Hydrolyst Eidolons too.

Applications

Each Sentient Core I have talked about have two purposes, one is exchanging them for Standing Points to increase your Standing inside the Quills faction. You have access to this faction, as you know, once you finish two Quests; The War Within, after which you can use your Operator, and Saya’s Vigil, which gives you access to the closed door in Cetus where Quill Onkko is.

And the second purpose is as a requirement for sacrifices to increase your Standing Level inside the Quills Faction.

I talk about it with more detail in a specific entry about Quills Standing.

6. Eidolon Shards

To get this Shards it will be “enough” to defeat this huge Sentient war machine known as Eidolon Teralyst. And I say enough because there is a more complex way to defeat it to obtain another kind Resources, and it is to “catch it“.

To defeat it you have to break its four weak spots (two in the knees and another two in its elbows) and finally attacking it in the head until you finish it. If you can “catch” it you also get an Eidolon Shard at the end of the fight.

Those of you who have approached this enemy will understand the complexity and difficulty this involves. Its main application is to craft weapons and arcanes for the Operator, and as a sacrifice to increase your Standing level with the Quills.

You can get it from Gantulyst and Hydrolyst Eidolons too.

7. Brilliant Eidolon Shards

My most heartfelt congratulations to the ones of you who have get this valuable Resource. To obtain it you have, not only to defeat an Eidolon Teralyst, but also do it in a more complex and delicate way. You have to catch it.

To do that you have to, at least, attach two Eidolon Lures to the four Eidolon Teralyst weak spots. And they have to be completely charged. To charge the Lures you will need to weaken the Vombalyst Eidolons to make the Lures “catch” them.

If when you defeat the Teralyst you have two Lures attached to two limbs, when they explode you will get a Brilliant Eidolon Shard among the other valuable Resources.

You can get it from Gantulyst and Hydrolyst Eidolons too.

The Eidolon Brilliant Shard have two applications, you can transform it in 25000 Focus Points to your School, or with 1.000.000 of Focus Point and one of this Brilliant Shards, you can make that one of the focus abilities is “shared” and you can use it even if its not from your Primary School. It doesn’t sound bad but, Don’t you think its cost is a bit excessive? Maybe the benefit is worth it.

7. Brilliant Eidolon Shards

If when you defeat the Teralyst you have two Lures attached to two limbs, when they explode you will get a Radiant Eidolon Shard among the other valuable Resources.

You can get it from Gantulyst and Hydrolyst Eidolons too.

And that’s all, Tenno. We keep trying to confirm part of this information, but I can tell you it seems correct.

We hope this is helpful, and as always, if you see any mistake or missing information we appreciate you let us know trough the comments below.

Good luck Tenno!
